Learn How To Create The Perfect Email Campaign

Are you creating your first email campaign and don’t know how to get started? Email marketing is one of the most powerful forms of communication. If it wasn’t, you would never see any company or individual work with it. The truth is that email connects you with many different people, most of which, are going to respond to what ideas you are promoting. A grand majority of individuals are open to receiving emails that are from companies that they know and trust. That means that you could build an audience that is willing to not only receive your email marketing collateral, but will respond to your calls to action. There are a few tips that you should consider when designing perfect emails today.

Use Proper Headings and Design Elements

When you’re creating emails, don’t put in a huge line of text. Nothing is worse in email than having to go through a large paragraph of information. Most people don’t have the attention span. Instead of writing lengthy newsletters and marketing collateral, think about making things a little more streamlined, and simple to scan, read, and click through. Use headings, bullets, and separations that help the reader get what they want, and are interested in. Too many words will not get read, simple as that.

Use Creative Imagery

Do not under any circumstances leave images out. Use a lot of visual design, and elements that are unique. Even if you’re promoting a service, or a marketing plan, or just about anything, you need to make sure that you use creative images to complement any writing or advertising you’re trying to get across. Take notes from big box retailers that send emails to the consumer. Companies that do very well with email marketing include Walmart, Target, and others. Big box retailers spend a great deal of money to create email collateral that looks amazing, draws attention, and clicks. You need to use creative imagery, it’s that simple.

Do Not Forget The Call To Action

The biggest thing about email marketing matters most, and it’s call to action. It’s very important that you have this in place. You need to have a call to action that isn’t just hidden in the text. Instead, make it stand out, put it in the creative elements, and use headlines to make it seem important. You will not get anywhere if you don’t push forward the right elements here. You need to have a good call to action that complements the writing, the images, and is placed in an easy to click area of your email marketing collateral.

CrazyEgg has a great blog post on how to create the perfect call to action with examples.

The last major tip that you are going to want to consider is simple yet again, don’t do too much. Keep things simple. Seriously, make sure that you keep things very simple, easy to read, and visually dynamic. If you do this, you’ll get more of a response from individuals, than you would any other way. Focusing on the right marketing collateral starts with simplicity. You don’t have to go completely minimal, but if you scale back on words, focus on images, and put in a good call to action, you’ll see email marketing in a whole new light.

You’re also going to want to ensure that you have a landing page for your email campaign.  The landing page should be a simple page outlining the offer with a clear call to action button.  Good luck!
