There is a long list of ideas that you can pursue in order to improve your Google Ranking this year. But did you know that some of the things from the past, are working today? That’s right, the tips and tricks that were working in 2016 are still working today, especially a select handful of items that didn’t get upheaved from the latest edition of their algorithm. You see, in the past, Google would put out updates and wipe the chalkboard of what worked, punishing and dropping websites that had used old techniques. But it seems that they are not doing that nearly as much. In fact, they are starting to acquiesce a little, when it comes to SEO management. It’s with that in mind that you should consider the following Google ranking tips that are still working from the past, right now, and may continue to work into late 2017.
Isolating Keyword Phrases
Instead of isolating one or two keywords to place yourself into Google ranking systems, pick keyword phrases. Isolate more than just 2 words, including a sentence if you must. Remember, people do not just search online for “one” solitary word any longer. They are asking questions, they are isolating factors of 2 or 3 couplets, and figuring out the best result from the millions of websites. If you can manage to link together several words, you will rank higher due to relevance. Don’t just isolate “one” word, keep things together, and highlight multiple phrases and contexts.

Writer Better Content Than Your Competition
If you’re serious about Google ranking, then you need to see what your competition is writing, and how they are rising through the ranks. Look at what they do right, and how they publish content. Then take what they’ve published and do it better. You may know more than they do, you may have a different perspective, or experience. Well those differences can help you get the upper hand, and outshine them. Remember, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to SEO, you simply need to improve on what’s already being done. Sometimes, just updating content that others are publishing will jump start your rankings.
Name Your Images Correctly
One of the easiest things to forget about is the words that you use in your images. Do you name your images based on SEO protocol? Or do you do what others do, and just put in a number or highlight a name, or some convention that helps you isolate images in a folder? The best course of action to help sway Google ranking is to name your images by the keyword phrases you’re trying to rank for, as well as isolating the alt and title tag to help you get more attention to the right areas of the web. Do not name your images after numbers, letters, or easy to find titles within folders, that’s not going to help you.
Use Social Media To Share Your Link’s URL
Do not shorten URL lengths or conventions for social media. If you have a long URL, spell it out and post it as such. Even if you’re going to upload videos, or images to social networks. Always include a full direct copy of your site’s URL and include interior pages. Fill out the “about” areas, and anywhere you can with full links. You do not need to hyperlink them, mind you, just spell them out in certain pages and social media profiles. This will help you gain traction faster, and highlight your involvement with top Google ranking websites.
Make Sure Your Website’s URL Utilizes Keyword Phrasing
Regardless of whether you have a dot com, dot net, or a hosted blog, make sure that the string of sub-pages, and URL phrasing has the keyword titles you want to rank for in Google. Google ranking depends on the structure of your pages, the URL of your pages, and the way that you use the naming conventions of your site’s future pages. That means that you should not have a URL that is isolated by number, or any other format. Use the keyword phrases you want, and include them in the URL to help you rank higher, and further than other pages.
Publish Content On A Schedule For Google Ranking
The last big thing that is still working from the past is that of content publishing. If you truly want to hit a home run with Google ranking, then publish content on a set schedule. Pick the days of the week you want to publish, and stick to it in terms of day and time. Then do that every week, every year, and continually do the same. If you do this, you’ll garner a lot of attention from the Internet’s top search engines, guaranteed.
