Hello Bar Review – How to Increase Conversions Easily

Hello Bar Review – Increase Conversions On Your Website

Everyone wants to increase conversions on their website and when things aren’t working we tend to panic.  We consider changing our entire website design or over think our landing page.  Over the years I’ve found that making subtle changes can increase conversion rates substantially.  You can double or triple your sales or subscribers by making small but distinct changes.  If you have a call-to-action for example, change the text.  One example would be changing a call-to-action text from ‘Sign Now’ to ‘Get Started’.  The possibilities are endless but that is what A/B testing is all about.  One thing I’ve learned over the years is that A/B testing is an ongoing process, it never stops.  You should always be A/B testing.  Test one page versus another and then after your test period swap out the poor performing page with a new page and then start a new A/B test.  The simple answer is to never settle!

What is Hello Bar?

Have you ever visited a website that had a colored bar across the top of the page with an offer?  That’s Hello Bar!  It’s a static bar that sits above your website with text and a call-to-action button.  Below is a screenshot of Hello Bar.

In the screenshot above you can see Hello Bar in action.  The red bar across the top is where you would add a compelling offer and the black button is the call-to-action which you want people to click.  You can have the button go to a specific landing page, download page or even have an input box for people to join your email list.  It’s a simple non intrusive way to grab your visitors attention without distraction.

Hello Bar even lets you add Social Icons to the bar to provide visitors the ability to like, tweet or share.

Why Hello Bar Works

I’ve tried it all, popups, popunders, opt-in pages and so on.  Lets conclude that we all hate popups.  They’re annoying and most of the time get blocked.  Like the infomercials say ‘there has to be a better way!”.  Well there is, it’s called Hello Bar.  It works because it doesn’t cover any content like a popup and sits above your website at the top of the browser so users can still see your entire website without any obstruction.  You can set the color of the bar and the color of the call-to-action button to seamlessly match your websites design so it doesn’t look out of place.  The idea is to catch the users attention without distracting them from seeing your website content.  You can seriously maximize results by adding Hello Bar without disrupting your website design.

Does Hello Bar Really Work?

It’s not for everyone let put it that way.  Sites that I have tested Hello Bar on have substantially gotten more sales and traffic to their targeted pages.  We’re talking 5-10 times the conversions by adding Hello Bar.  We can discuss all of the metrics but in the end you need to try it yourself to see how it makes a difference on your website.

Here are some examples of what you could do with Hello Bar:

  • Grow your email list by putting an input box subscribe button
  • Promote a discount code or coupon code
  • Highlight important news and information
  • Get more social interactions using social icons
  • Direct visitors to a special page about a product

Above I’ve listed just a few example of how to use Hello Bar.  The options are endless and it depends on what you’re trying to achieve.  Whether you are trying to get more subscribers or promote a discount you’ll find that using Hello Bar is simple and not as obnoxious as a popup.

Hello Bar Pricing

Hello Bar has a free plan and paid plans.  The free plan has a small Hello Bar logo in the top left.  It also limits you to 25 clicks on your call-to-action.  The free plan might sound limited at 25 clicks but I’d recommend you try it out to see if it’s even working for you or not.  There is no term, you can continue to use the free plan as long as you like.

Paid plans start at $4.95/month and give you the option to remove their logo.  You also get 100 clicks on your call-to-action on this plan.  The next plan up is $12.95/month and gives you 500 clicks.  Paid plans also give you a few useful features such as SSL support, saved themes, rss feeds and as mentioned it’s unbranded.  Just to clarify the paid version is called Hello Bar Pro.

Overall Hello Bar Review

We all want higher conversions and adding Hello Bar to your website is a quick way of targeting your visitors without making major changes to your sites design.  Unlike a popup it’s unobtrusive.  I’ve tested Hello Bar on a few sites and found great results.  The only way to know if Hello Bar will work for you is to try it.
