Creating Better Content On Your Website

Tips: Writing Better Content

Content Writing Tips

Search engine optimization has several parts to it. But amidst the most compelling is the need to publish content. Content design and publishing can either help your website grow or it could cause problems for your page. If you’re going to get anywhere with marketing, no matter what type of website you have, content has to be the most important thing you work on.

This may sound simple, right? Just throw out a bunch of articles and wait for the traffic to roll in. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work well. You will need to create the “right” kind of content to see results. Without the “right” content, you will not get anywhere fast. This comes at you fast, too.

The following ideas are meant to help you create content that works, and delivers traffic. Without this, you cannot build an “empire” with your website. These tactics are guaranteed to work.

HubSpot has a pretty cool Blog Idea Generator you can play around with if you’re stuck and need topics to write about.

Create Content With More Images

There are a lot of different ways that you can find images online. There’s the stock photo market, which allows you to use royalty free images, for instance. You could also just go with Google Images, and use them, assuming you use credits etc. The goal with this idea is simple, use more content with images.

Do not just post large paragraphs without adding some sort of image that reflect the nature of the content. Also, fill out the tags of your images properly, which include title tags, alt tags, and any relative links that you want people to click on.  Check out PixaBay for Free Images that you can use on your website.

Use Outlines To Write Content

Schools across the nation tell people to write essays with outlines. You create an outline and you then write your essay. This same thing works with content design for websites. Use outlines that help you break down what you want to write about, then write out content that speaks to the outline.

An outline allows you to create marketing collateral that is “content” based. It’s something that is simple. It’s not complicated, and will not cause you any sort of issue in the long term. Use outlines to write content with relative ease.

Rewrite Other People’s Work

Use people’s content to create content for your own website. You need to read a lot of websites and use them as inspiration for what you want to create moving forward. Rewriting other people’s work is not a bad thing. However, you need to make sure that the information is put into your own words.

Your goal is not to copy what others have done. Your goal is to create something more complex, and interesting. That’s going to take a little bit more expertise, but you have it. Your expertise is going to help you gain the upper hand overall. Rewrite other people’s works with a focus on designing elements that focus on your expertise, simple as that.

You Won’t Be The First, So Don’t Panic

People that are working with content often want to be the “first” people to do something. There’s nothing wrong with that notion, but if you face off against that, you will not get far. You shouldn’t strive to be the first person to comment, write, or discuss any topic. Sure, you could do that, but unless you’re running a popular news website, you will not go far.

The goal that you should have in marketing and creating a website is to start with content that already has authority figures. Think of places that you can link to with authority, then write elements that supplement that idea. You want to have information hat already has sources, and that is somewhat important to speak about within your industry. Don’t “break news”, it’s not worth it.

Read The Comments

Not sure what to write about? Stumped as to what the next thing to work with is? It’s as simple as going to the comments section of any website. Look at popular websites that speak about the topic that you’re working on. Then read through the options that they have. Look for the comments that are being posted on their pages, and you’ll see a lot of solutions come through. That’s a good thing.

Read through their comments, then create content that specifically addresses the needs of those commenting. You’ll find that if you respond to comments in the form of content, you’ll get more traffic in time. The goal is to answer questions, and become helpful in your niche. This is a method that works, until you have comments to respond to on a regular basis.
